Evening all,

As some of you may know I have a 98uk wagon ;)

Somebody over on snet is selling a 99uk ecu that has alreay been ECUtek'd and also comes with the license.

I suppose you can all guess my next question... Will the 99 ecu be compatible onto a 98 if having a re-map?

I hope this makes sense to you..

Many thanks in advance

NO! :(
Different wiring and plugs. Also the sensors on the engine are different so even if you could swap all the wiring it still wouldn't work.

Best and cheapest option for the MY97-8 is an Apexi PFC (it has to be a MY97-8 specific Apexi too) ;)

As Dyney says the MY98 cannot be ecutek'd..

Are you 100% it's a 98 and not an early 99 spec.
If your ignition coil pack is in the centre of the engine it's a 98. If it's offset slightly to the right it's a 99 spec.

Nuts......:( (and spanners)

Coil packs are centre, (its an R reg).

Well there goes that idea then... What is the average price for mapping the Apexi with someone who knows what they're doing? as I wouldn't have a clue!!

Thanks for your responses guys, much appreciated... even though the missus is very happy now...

BTW, I have a full decat system, induction with cold air feed and recently added intrcooler splitter (thanks Simon!!), would there be alot of point mapping with the limited mods or is it worthwhile waiting for fuel pumps etc??

Thanks again...

You can up the boost to around 1.2bar on the MY98 TD04, standard TMIC and injectors.
With this you should see around 280BHP, 270ft/lb.

Have a word with Simon aka Jolly green Monster. He's our resident Apexi mapper.

if you've got it flaunt it :) :D

Would make a change of late to not have to travel miles to map a car..

Mapping 3 this weekend and only one is from home.

Scott is spot on with the figures above ;)

Mine ran 276BHP for quite a few years with just a decat and filter and a dawes device set at 1.17 bar.
All on TD04, Std TMIC and injectors :D

Evening,

sorry haven't posted up much..

Just treated myself to a new bike during week so not sure how much I would have left to get an apexi, depending on how much they go for.... Any ideas what I would need to look out for, as in hardware?

With this in mind, is it just easier to raise the boost alone? As I've always thought it best to do it all together such as fueling and air etc???

Sorry, i'm not the most technically minded, give me a spanner and I'll put stuff together, technical data and mapping....waaay past me!!

Cheers guys for all the input!!

Rich
