View Full Version : Fitting an EGT gauge
Hi all,
Bought a Blitz EGT gauge so i can keep an eye on the temps & see if she's detting at all,thing is the ****** destructions are in ****** jap arent they:rolleyes: any one know how to wire one in & where the best place to mount the probe would be?

not sure on wireing of the thing. hopefully it will be +12v GND , sensor wires (2?) and illumination ?
as for positioning - pre turbo
and, it wont tell you if it's detting, but anything close to 900c and i'd say your engine would have blown up long ago :p

Wireing is as you say,except it has a yellow wire as well....bat+ back-up?
Wires are.red,black,red(sensor)white(sensor)yellow???,or ange(illumination?)
Ahh so i need to put the sensor in the manifold,no good in the downpipe then?
Will have to look for a suitable place for the probe then.
The best position is in the up pipe, but the downpipe will do. Just remember the temps will be slightly cooler post turbo. :)

i doubt battery backup - as there is nothing to back up....
orange is normally Illumination for wiring in cars. but not sure what yellow could be ? :confused:

Same as,i'll wire it up without it & see what happens....got to find somewhere to stick the probe 1st:2ponder:
In the instructions the yellow has(RTN) beside it?
Any wiser??
