i very much doubt it Deano. more likely something from the oil change
or
i've damaged that side rocker box gasket in the angle grining, chiseling and thumping with a hammer !

They are actually quite thick/tough.
It's getting to them that is a pain as they run across the top of the headers and have bolts through them aswell :(

job i had yeasterday was hard

1.2mm stainless steel, this stuff snaps tin snips! but thats why i use snap on tools!

ScoobyDuck

snips would have not gone through these.

2ply ~5mm thick ali

and as Iain says, they have bolts in the top, and bolts holding the 2 halfs together.

none of the bolts would come undone, and more importantly, when (if) they sheard, they didnt do it in a way to break the halfs!

I think I used snips on mine but the top half didn't have any bolts in it ;)

It had rusted round them and dropped on to the headers  :haha:
