Hey guys, sorry I havent been around, was hoping to be at the meet tomorrow but now I have a bit of a problem!!

Any ideas whats going on with my car, I have just fitted FMIC and HKS induction Kit, to my WRX 95 and she runs a liitle less smoothly (no real bother), but, she seems to run fine until she gets to about 4,500 revs under load, then she starts to cough and fart, and strangely the boost guage reads 0 and then starts to pick up.

I have an AVCR as well which reads the same boost readings so its not the guage, and I have not changed anything else, I have checked all the FMIC couplings and they appear fine (had the bumper back off to make sure they were all tight) and she is not a happy bunny.

Strangely in neutral she revs up fine, although the boost guage reads the same as above.

If you have any ideas then please let me know

Thanks

Mark

definatly a loss of vacuum hence the poor running,as the maf cant sense the air thats entering past it,i would suspect if theres no pipe probs, then maybe the fmic is at fault, even if new could be a prob on pro line?

I know you have checked the FMIC, but have you checked all the vacumm hoses are all on and not damaged/twisted?

Injectors all plugged and tight?

If you can get it to the meet we can take a look :)

Guys, thanks for getting back to me, strangely I was reading one of Dyneys previous posts and following his comments let the car run until it was up to running temperature and dryed out, and it runs fine now, I think it was either damp in the induction (spent most of the day in the rain with the bonnet open and me climbing all over it), or maybe some cleaner in the induction filter.
Wife's not very well at the minute (pretty serious) and she is not up to travelling to the meet, however I will try to make the next one.

Its also nice to not be told it needs a remap, it seems the nay sayers believe even if you put new fuel in it needs a remap just in case, its nice to see Sussex scoobies are better than that,

thanks again for the help

Glad you got it sorted :D

Does it boost before 4500 revs now?

 I hope your wife recovers soon.

It is running really well now, in fact its a great improvement on what was there before, much more responsive.
As to the wife, thanks for the thoughts, bit of a fraught time as we have just found out its a brain tumour, she has been having fits for a couple of months and we couldn't find any reasons, i.e. no history of epilepsy or anything, but done scans and MRIs just before we went on hols, and got the answers mid way through, she has been having head aches etc and her arm goes numb so it was going to be something pretty serious but you always hope for the best.

We are both pretty cool about it all and will just stay positive and go through all the right steps and hope everything works out, but its fair to say it makes you appreciate whats really important in life.

thanks again for the support (for the wife and the car)

Couple of hguys I know had brain tumors. (Don't know the ins and outs)
Both had ops to remove them and are fitting fit now with no side effects :D

I think I speak for all in asking you to pass on our best wishes :)
I hope all goes well.

you shouldn't be gunning it until it is fully warm anyway.. not unless you like handing out folding paper..

Very sorry to here about your wife Mark. . I do hope things work out..
Wife's cousin just had same diagnosis.. not that it happening to others will help in anyway but not sure what else to say.

All the best
Simon

Thanks for your kind thoughts all, it does help to know others care, its not what you say that matters, its the knowing that you care enough to say something, and being new to the group its nice to be included especially when its during difficult times. Thanks all so much.
