View Full Version : Ecu codes?
Anybody know the different codes for the different ecu's & the power outputs?? (early classics to 96)
ie Z4 =260ps etc
Cheers
Steve
There all the same, well certainly up until 2001 they were. Not sure if they kept the same format from then on.
see the diagnostics Scooby section of http://www.saxonfields.freeserve.co.uk/
A good site & very interesting but i meant the actual code printed on the ecu itself(sorry i didnt explain it very well)

Here go's...........
1993-1994 WRX : 240ps : U8, W6 and 2C (poor map)
1993-1994 WRX RA : 220ps : W9 (as above)
1994 STi : 250ps : SA (Never seen one, some supposed STi have ended up having the same ECU as above)
1994 STi RA : 275ps : SB (Very lean at the top)
1994-1996 WRX : 260ps : Z4 (Good map, as used/modifed by Prodrive for the UK PPP)
1994-1996 WRX RA : 260ps : Z5 (similar to above)
1994-1996 STi : 275ps : 6K (not managed to download this one, but beleived to be similar to 7K)
1994-1996 STi 2 RA : 275ps : 7K (Good map based on Z4 but with higher boost)
1993-1996 WRX Wagon : 220ps : 1C, V5 (poor map, boost tails off quickly)
1993-1996 WRX Wagon Auto : 220ps : V9 (as above)
1993-1996 UK Saloon/Wagon : 208BHP : V7 or 7D (safe UK map, but can be improved)
1993-1996 EU Saloon/Wagon : 208BHP : 6D (as above)
1993-1996 Aus WRX : 208BHP : V7 or 7D (as above)
That's all from memory, so you could say I've seen alot of ECU's ;)
So if i use a U8 with 1 of your chips, what sort of power could i see?

I'm not going to quote a finite figure for you car, as it depends on it's health.
My old UK gave 255BHP running just 14psi with the front cat still in place. An increase of nearly 50BHP over the standard UK figure.
Running 16psi is gave 269BHP, still with the front cat fitted.
It's also not all about BHP as the torque increase is also quite significant.
Some people have reported back to me 270BHP/265lbft from a UK, 290BHP for a WRX and over 300 for some STi.
Put it this way, no-ones ever complained with over 150 sales.
What you do have to bear in mind is that on some roller the target boost is not achieved that would be achieved on the road. So power will be down.
If you have any doubt's just post on Scoobynet asking what a ScoobyECU mapped by Scott.T will do for you. There's plenty of people on there with em'.
I don't like to blow my own trumpet......I'll leave that for others to do....(preferably fit, blonde, about 24 and with a busty brunette friend ;))
Great list there Scott :thumb:
Do you know the post MY96 codes?
Iain,
Sorry no, the only one I see regular on Ebay is an 8S
