Ordered some EBC Redstuff pads for the Front brakes on my 2005 WRX.

Are there any special things I have to do to fit them? or they basicly just pop the old ones out, pop the new ones in?

cheers guys.

Should be a direct swap :)

They might come with sticky foam pads. They go on the back of the pad to stop brake squeal. Though not sure if EBC do them, if not just a smear of copper grease on the back of the pad will do :D

Dead easy to fit.
Remove sliding pin clip from back of caliper.
Slide pins out (may need to pull them out with pliers).
Anti rattle spring on the top should then fall out.
Give the pads a wiggle and they 'may' just come out.
If not get a large pair of plier/stillsons, cover the teeth with a rag to protect the calipers, then close the pliers so they grip the edge of the pad and the caliper. Thus pushing the piston back and allowing the pad to slide out.

Do the same on the inner pad, then clean the inside edges of the caliper with white spirit to remove any old brake dust and road debris.

using the same method as above, push the pistons right into the caliper.

apply copper grease to the new pads, on either end. Fit squeel shims where applicable applying copper grease between faces and where the piston roughly touches the pad.

Slide pads in, refit pins and anti rattle spring. Then refit pin retainer clip.

Give brake pedal a push to force pads onto disk. Job done, now get round and do the other side.

Subaru pads are dead easy to replace. It takes longer to jack the car up and take the wheels off TBH.
