Its got ripples all over it, I got Steve from Dentz to have alook and he said it would cost about £300 to repair, and a better option was to replace it, I have another roof coming from Jap performance parts, so thought it would make the most sense to do it myself:eek:

from what iv seen of the roof panel the front and rear screens have to come out headlining out of corse then get your self some nice new spot weld drill bits and a hot air gun start by dilling out the spot welds and get to the state where you can lift each side up the fron inside the car use the hot air gun on the cross brases to losen the glue on them then you should be able to pull the roof panel of :)

hope this help a bit :)

Matt, thanks Is it difficult to get the screens out, I was going to get someone to do it for me at least I wont have to clear up boken glass that way, and any suggestions where I get the drill bits you refer to? Oh and one other thing, do you fancy giving me a hand:D

your best bet with the screen is to get them taken out by someone that knows what there doing lol after all there not cheep to replace lol the drill bits i refer to can be found on ebay for not much money :) aslo may i ask what experance you have in doing this sort of thing .....

Matt, again thanks, well experience, hmm none really, can weld in a straight line - just lol, Understand I need to measure up before I remove the roof to make sure it doesn't twist. But experience - basically none, I am not phased by doing it, as there is only so many things I can do wrong, and its a shell at the end of the day, but would far rather get it right, so its cheaper. I can do mechanics me, but bodywork is not something I have had a lot of experience with as generally thats what Insurance is for.....

Still I am going to try it, so if you fancy coming for a ringside seat you are welcome, I will even make you tea.

But what I was hoping for was to find someone who could give me the time to make sure I was doing it right, if that makes sense! either way I am grateful for any input, I am enjoying the challenge of doing this project so its not a major deal, and at worst If I get it wrong I will pay someone to do it.
I have enough savvy to stop before it goes horribly wrong but also love to test the boundaries of my comfort zones with stuff like this.

Again thanks for the input so far, let me know your thoughts, if you think I should get a garage to do it-thats cool too.

hmm were are you based

i might be able to help a little

ive been in the sheet metal trade for 10 years not that i weld etc

but i use spotwelders and no how to dril them out etc

a good normal dril bit will do just keep it cool oil will work if yo u havent got fluid,

as for roof lineing etc run the car with heaters on for 10 min ( all doors shut) this will warm the plastic interior and it will flex easyer ( no cracking)

Buzz, I am in peacehaven, I have all the roof lining out already, and hope to have the glass taken out on Tuesday or Wednesday, so if you have some spare time next weekend - Sunday is probably best it could be a giggle, I have ordered some drill bits off e-bay, and I will get the other roof by next weekend, or at the latest Saturday Morning, so Sunday makes sense, but only if you are free, and as you are on this post can I have some stickers please, I would like enough for two cars please, just let me know what i owe you, thanks
