Regarding the tyres rubbing usually if they are over 215/45/r17 the rears will rub on the inside of the arch the front wil be ok. Im not sure but i dont think it is a good thing having a steering wheel that moves in and out. I could just not be bolted up tight (if it is an after market on the guy might have put in on wrong) But if if is std it shouldnt move in and out.

i'd get that steering wheel off ASAP and check it !!

also check the coupling under the bonnet down to the left of the turbo

What size tyres are fitted?
Check the tyre to shock clearance on the rear.

I would get the steering sorted ASAP
Is the whole column moving or just the wheel on the column?
There is a mount behind the dash that holds the column "up", but can't think at the moment what holds it in the "in/out" direction :2ponder:

I have had a look through the manual and there are only to 2 bolts to the dash cross member and a bush at the bulkhead to support the column.

Red might have a header tank from the WRX he's breaking in "For sale"
