Can the seats in an MY99 Classic be altered to enable them to be any more upright?

Moving the drivers seat right forward (tilt) then moving it back to the most upright position feels as though it should be another click forward. But there isn't a click for this.

Any ideas?

Are you talking about the backrest "tilt"?

I don't quite understand what you mean

I think what he means is, when you pull the lever for the back rest tilt and pull it right forward to the steering wheel.

When you then push the seat back, it locks in position on the first click/tooth. However by that time it has gone back too far and the angle is too shallow.

Hence it could do with being more upright? Closer to 90 degrees opposed to 70 degrees?

Is that what you mean Steve?

ha ha..
dont think thats quite delicate enough ;)

i was wondering if it could be rotated a bit so that the final most upright position was further forward?

either that or its washers - but i dont think that will do.
or its something wrong with the seat....might have to borrow another one ?

Steve

My old MY99 seats (set in the most upright position) were to upright to be comfortable to drive in.

I reckon you've got a dodgy seat.

Is it the 2 door or 4 door? Cant quite remember!

I know that my drivers seat in the RB5 ( 4 door ), had a different tilting mechanism on it, compared to the P1 ( 2 door ). As such i was able to get a bit more recline on the seat in the RB5 compared to the P1.

Because you have to move the seat in the P1 to allow passengers to get in to the back, the tilting mechanism is different.

Does that make sense?:2ponder:

resists temptation to post a rude reason you need the room in the back of the car but to be shielded from view by the seats.
