I wanted to fit the My 06 STI Impreza rear diffuser on my 06 FSTI so took some measurements at a dealer and then got a diffuser off ebay
The floor pan is very different to the Impreza and the bumper sits about 8" further back so you would hardly see a diffuser unless it's mounted on the bumper and as there are 2 holes in the bumper in the correct place then it made sense.
So here are some pics :icon_razz:

1st job was to cut the sides down to the same level as the tallest mounting points, you can't make the sides flush to the floor pan as they are to far away.
The standard heat sheild was removed and I made this one out of stainless steel.

This shows the cut down part and the heat sheild sprayed black and riveted on (for a motorsport look :icon_wink: )

This is the made up fitting kit, the genuine Subaru bracket fits inside the bumper, then I made an alloy angle bracket which fits to the bumper stay mount (to fit the centre hole on the diffuser)
The front bracket is angle alloy with 2 bolts pointing down to mount the diffuser, the other to holes are bolted through to drilled holes either side of the spare wheel mount  Then there is a 3/16 pot rivet to hold up the right hand corner onto the bumper using a plastic spacer I made on a lathe, this was to stop crushing the gap.

This shows the mounts (before the centre screws were cut and painted black.)

The finished project ! :Banane02:

Looks Good... it's suprising how good a cheap old bit of plastic can look
I bet subaru charge a fortune for those things.

Hi bob, the diffuser and rear bracket are genuine subaru ones. I have seen them from Hong Kong for £99 but I did a search for diffuser and got this one from a bloke in Leeds it was a 1 off. You can get the diffuser and a cusco mounting bracket from japanparts.com that will fit your car :thumb: it was no good for me as would be too far back and you wouldn't see it thats why I mounted it on the rear bumper:D

Cheers for now, see you on sunday
