Will it fit as i thought the bellhousing bolt configuration was different ?
If it does fit what sti3 bits will i need to fit to the engine?
Alternatively will an STI5 fit
many thanks

Number of bell housing bolts changed in MY99 so it will be fine :)
FYI. Later boxes will fit early engines but you just use the 4 bolts as per the early engine and early boxes will fit to late (MY99 on) engines but again just use the 4 bolt holes in the gearbox :D

To fit the STI2 engine into an STI3 you will need to use the STI3 inlet manifold complete with coil pack and HT leads.
I would also use the Exhaust man (headers) too. The STI2 will have a lambda sensor in the headers where as the STI3 uses one in the downpipe. You could just plug the hole in the early headers though ;)

The down side to STI2 heads over STI3 is that the cams aren't as aggressive and the tappets/followers maybe hydraulic (can't remember) :2ponder:

On the STI5 the inlet manifold bolt pattern on the heads is wrong for the STI3 inlet man.
STI5 block will fit if you use the STI3 heads which would bolt on :)
