over boost ..nice cold air, it gets a little bit too much boost and if it stays there for a second or so it will cut, then come back - very violent.

usually if it happens alot then it will need the wastegate duty and/or target boost changing in the map - or could be boost creep.

you could try to provoke it if you think it a problem. normally if you stamp no the throttle at about 4 - 4,500 rpm it will overboost . if it cant catch it, then its that.

If you do the same and hold it in gear and it does it as you get 5000+ etc then it's probably creep.this is where the turbo does its own thing and starts bosoting more and more no matter what you do to control it.

porting of the turbo and wastegate normally fixes it. can be controlled to some extent by mapping.

Sounds like Boost/fuel cut
Cold damp air will cause it. Was it misty?

Do you know what boost it hit?

Remove the pipes from the 3 port sol and spray brake/carb cleaner in it (easier if you unbolt it)
Connect the test connectors under the dash (can't remember their colour at the mo)
Turn the Ign on.
The fan should pulse on/off and so should the sol :D
Spray some more cleaner in the ports.

Ign off, disconnect the test plugs
Leave the sol to dry and reconnect the pipes (in the right places) ;)

Take the turbo off.
Split the exhaust housing off.
Use a carbide burr/cutter and remove some of the material behind the wastegate penny/flap.
Open the hole slightly and smooth the throut to it :)
