Are the oil sumps on the flat four wet or dry !:2ponder:
Only asking as me dad asked me last night and had to answer with a don't know ! :blush:

hi its a wet sump mate dry sumps have no oil in them its held in a seperate tank and pumped in . my mk1 rs had 1 its a pain needs priming on start up the pump runs off one of the engine pullys

1st oil tank 2nd feed and return running up trans tunnel 3rd to oil cooler,

i perfer wet, hurts when dry:haha:

Most road cars are wet sump.
Only race cars or very high performance cars use dry sump now.
