How to clean a boost solinoid ?

How do you clean a boost solinoid ?
I ask aswhen I was at the last meet , talking I think to jimwrx he was saying the boost failer was possibly down to the solinoid having oil in it and said it could need cleaning or replacing !

I was writing a reply to this on your other thread while you typed this one :haha:


Remove the pipes from the 3 port sol and spray brake/carb cleaner in it (easier if you unbolt it)
Connect the test connectors under the dash (can't remember their colour at the mo)
Turn the Ign on.
The fan should pulse on/off and so should the sol :D
Spray some more cleaner in the ports.

Ign off, disconnect the test plugs
Leave the sol to dry and reconnect the pipes (in the right places) ;)
