cheers guys you may have noticed id got round to putting on on my newly sprayed sideskirts and new rear bumper aswell as my original skirts were black and old rear bumper was a bit worn with the black extensions as seen in my members car profiles pic so managed to get hold of a later smooth bumper and got the whole lot sprayed up just got to get round to fitting the later sti rear light clusters, silver handles ive just got back and clear side repeaters so should be looking bit better soon :)
It's :thumb:
Do you still have the old early style rear bumper?

possibly my mate fitted the new bumper for me at his garage and we left the old one outside as he was gonna dispose of it but last time i was there it was still hanging about did you want it? i can see if its still there today it aint in the best of conditions though still has the black lower lips on it and the extra splash guards only thing missing is the inside metal frame as needed it for my new bumper
If it just needs paint then I'll have it if it's still there :)

Dave,
Looking good, I noticed that you have not put the rear fog back on the car is this because your sti lights have the rear fog built in. I woul like to fit sti lights to mine and it would be good to get rid of the bolt on fog light, change the rear bumper for a post facelift one and fit a uk type number plate. I know I am a being a tart about this but the english plates look so much better than the import ones IMO and the rear bumper on mine wont fit a standard uk plate cos the hole is to big! I also have black side skirts - not sure if i prefer the silver or not - just can't make my mind up.
Where did you get your bits from and how mch did you pay, how much did you pay to get your rear bumper sprayed?

alright mate cheers for comments on car :) yeah ur right didnt fit rear fog back on car as that big ugly thing i had on in first pics was because i had got the car from japan and needed it for mot. still thinking bout where to relocate it i think it looks so much better without it-no the later sti rear lights dont have it built in but my mate had the idea of removing one of the reverse lights and wiring fog light in there-dont have any tints so one reverse light should be enough but as i say still having think bout that. as for rear bumper got that from saj at jap performance paid £175 for bumper another set of sideskirts and 4 doorhandles then £420 for everything to be painted as u can see got bumper and sideskirts on now just handles which i hear is quite tricky

Thanks for that Dave. Will give them a call and see what they can do I'm only after a rear bumper and front facelift set. Have decided I might get my sideskirts colour coded - can't afford to buy another set so I will get my mate to remove and paint my existing ones. I need some work done on the rear spoiler too as I have some small cracks in it so he can do that at the same time.
Already have colour coded door handles on mine mate so I cannot help you on that, I replaced them on my old VW van once and that was easy but I hope it goes alright for you. No doubt you will post the piccies when it's done m8.
The door handles are deffinatly "tricky".
2 x 10mm bolts on each handle.
The fronts are the easiest.
Door panel off.
You should be able to see the bolts.
The front one is easy with a 6" extension and socket.
For the rear bolt you need to go through a 20mm'ish hole in the inner skin. Again using the extension.
There is a little rod that drops down from the handle and pushes a lever to open the latch. You need to unclip that from the handle.
Push the clip off the rod shaft and then pull the rod out of the handle.
From outside pull the handle up and prise the bottom edge out the hole with your fingers, should now pull out :)
For the rear handles you will need to take out the 3 x screws holding the llatch to the door (can be very tight!) I use an impact driver to get them started. Then there is 1 x 10mm bolt holding the cetral looking actuator to the door inner skin.
Pull the latch down and out the way.
If you look through where the latch was you can see the rear bolt.
The front should be visable through the inner skin.
There is a rod on these too but it should come out with the handle
Again lift and prise with your fingers :)
Don't forget to get the rods in the right place before refitting the handle/latch!!!
And Check the latch and lock mechanism works before you close the door!!!!
Yes, I have just spent the afternoon refitting some door handles :D
