Firstly, how much should I be paying for a new Head Gasket not including labour costs? And secondly, can anyone advise me on where to get a de-cat for my Fujitsobu exhaust system and is it worth it?
Thanks, Alex.

Head gaskets are about £100 I think. The labour is the pricey bit :o

Is your Fujitsobu a backbox only or centre and back box? If it is a backbox only you may have a centre cat as well as one in the downpipe.
What size bore is it at the joint to the downpipe?
I expect it's 2.5" if it is mated to the std downpipe.

You don't say whether it's a classic or a new age but most Scooby exhaust suppliers will be able to sort you out with a DP to fit.

******!! Sorry to hear that :(

Call Rivett autos on 01483 272151 and ask for Mike Rivett. They are the local independant Subaru specialist. Located between Horsham and Cranleigh on the Sussex/Surrey border. Have a look in the traders section for comments about their work :)
Have a look at www.rivettautos.co.uk for a map.

As I said before the gaskets are about £100.
The engine really needs to come out to do them properly. I would say labour will be about £400'ish, but speak to Mike for a better idea.
