I have a 95 wrx and the other day on my way home my car started hunting when idling. The revs went up and down for about 10 seconds then settled down to normal idle speed. It then did it again a couple of days later and i noticed it got worse when it got hotter. It has not done it again since tho. Any ideas? Cheers.

at a guess i would say a sticky idle control valve might be worth taking it of and giving it a clean :)

Could also be MAF as these can cause intermitent idle hunting and stalling.

Early MAF's are pretty strong though.
What about a dicky water temp sensor? Alot cheaper that a MAF. Only about £35 I think

Cleaning the MAF carefully with brake or carb cleaner may help too. I know rob had problems with his MY98 MAF and this sorted it.

Cotton wool buds and very delicate hands if you do clean the MAF. ;) My money is on the ISCV though.

A bit crude but you could just undo the screws and turn it full turn one way then the other a few times, this can unstick them without having to take off an clean up. Just remeber your origin point.
