Hi all
Just posted in the introduction section, now i need some help
Started to get a rubbing sound on rear nearside wheel which escalated into a nasty sounding clunk when i turned right transfering the weight onto that side, had it up in the air & noticed the hub nut in the centre of drum/disc was not very tight. After tightening it up went for a spin, problem solved....I thought!! Just driving around earlier & the suspect rubbing has started again
Up in the air again, this time hub nut is nice & tight
Anyone had anything like this? I'm suspecting worst case, rear diff???
The car is a UK MY00 Classic. Has warranty so if its serious it shouldn't be costly ;)

hi stooby if the centre nut was loose then it sound like its done the bearing in the hub so if its under warranty they should sort it for you

Not sure if a warranty will cover the bearing :(

Defo sounds like the wheel bearing. Probably why the hub nut was loose as the bearing is starting to break up.
Get it sorted ASAP or you may damage the hub :o

If you need a hub call Saj at www.japperformanceparts.co.uk in Crawley. Tell him you one of the Sussex Scoobies, might be worth a discount ;)

Thanks guys, have done wheel bearings on my other car before, bit of a pain but not to expensive.
Don't think they're covered on the warranty so looks like i'll be doing it myself

Call Mike at Rivett autos 01483 272151 (www.rivettautos.co.uk) if you don't fancy doing it yourself.
He's pretty cheap ;)
