Bought pukka STi HID lights to my 51 plate WRX wagon. JonMC fitted them and modified the looms to take the ballasts etc. I don't drive much at night but when I have I didn't notice a problem except a few oncoming flashes.

Took the car off the road in January due to domestic issues which are improving. Took it for MOT today and it sailed through except the beam spread on the lights. Not the fact they are HIDs.

Tester reckons they are set up for a LH drive car but couldn't adjust them back to UK set up.

Has anyone else been faced with this. Is there a fix or have I been conned?

Last weekend Mrs FB said "is that your alarm?" It was and thank God it was Saturday afternoon. Grabbed key, opened front door and pressed to reset. Nowt happened. Tried again with still no reaction.

Then I noticed that although the siren was screeching, the hazard flashers were not. Door locks wouldn't open so used the key to open the door. Still no reaction even with the key in the steering lock so only option was to pop the bonnet and disconnect the battery.

Been busy at work till now but I need to fix it as the MOT is due. Has anyone else had this problem and if not recommendations for a mobile specialist around Haywards Heath / Brighton area.

Many thanks. Paul

I've just found this at my parents house from when I had my Impreza a few years ago :)

Was removed from the car to be swapped with a Prodrive ECU, no faults with it (when removed) perfect for someone who wants to get their ECU remapped without having to risk anything on their own ECU!

I'll upload a photo on here when i go out to the garage.

Looking for £50 for it! :)

Collection from Kent, or Hastings/Eastbourne, or i am happy to package and post it for the cost of postage.

First chance goes to you guys, before i chuck it on eBay!

MY99 UK Turbo for sale

For sale is my much loved MY99 Subaru Impreza UK Turbo. Very good mileage for its age at only 66,000. This is backed up by the MOT certificates and service history. The car is standard apart from what you can see. It has just had a new set of tyres - toyo proxes, and a new set of front calipers, discs and pads from Godspeed brakes (being fitted next Friday). The engine runs very well and sounds fantastic! No smoke, rattles or noises. Turbo charged engine pulls very, very well and is always given plenty of time to warm up and cool down. Triple 5 license plate is included in the sale.

Modifications:
Full Scorpion exhaust system
K&N induction kit
Front strut brace
Tegiwa brake cylinder stopper (eliminates the standard spongy brakes)
Boot spoiler
Prodrive alloys
Sony stereo with front and rear pioneer speakers
Rear mud guards, fronts are available but not fitted.

It has all the usual refinements:
Electric windows
Electric mirrors
Air conditioning
Power steering
Sigma alarm and immobiliser
Central locking
Driver and passenger airbags

It has leather seats which I think are quite unusual but these came as an optional extra from new. They are in quite good condition with only a little wear to the drivers side bolster. Very comfortable though. The car has a good history showing that the cam belt was last changed at 21,000 miles. I asked my mechanic to check mine for me and he's satisfied that it still has a fair bit of life in it. The service manual is stamped up to 56,561 miles, next service is due at 67,500 but the oil was changed a few months ago as was the brake fluid and air filter.*

Bad points:
Only one key and one fob.
There is a new dent on the drivers side passenger door (pictured) care of someone at tesco. I'm sure that a mobile dent removal company would sort it out easily.
Few minor dings and scratches as you'd expect from a 14yr old car.
Central locking solenoid on the drivers side is noisy but works fine.
Very occasionally on long journeys, the check engine light has come on. This has been down to the air sensor according to the diagnostics. It has only done this since having the k&n fitted but does not affect performance or fuel.
Bit of lacquer peeling from both side bonnet vents.

MOT is due June 30th, tax is due June 30th. Box of original bits and pieces are included in the sale including original air box with cosworth filter and standard side lights.

As you might be able to tell from this advert and history, this car has been well looked after and always had money spent when required. I really do not want to sell it but for me it is just too expensive to run as my daily driver. In order for me to save, I need to make a sacrifice and this is it.

Any questions or to arrange a viewing, message me on here or give me a call on 07702 890369. If you want to test drive, i'll want to see insurance documents to prove you'll be insured.

No swaps or part ex so don't bother asking.

Price is £2250 but I'm open to sensible offers
