    Development of my Bugeye

I bought my Bugeye back in 2005 and drove it as standard for a few years during this time I changed the stereo, fitted an APS Dual port BOV and fitted the JDM Sti HID lights before biting the bullet and getting the Powerstation stage 1 in 2007. This transformed the car up to 275BHP and I was happy with that for some time...... After this the handling needed tightening up so I fitted a set of Eibach Anti roll bars front and rear and uprated the rear drop links.

Next up I fitted the STI TMIC and started on the bodywork, fitting Orcacri Side Skirts, Prodrive Front lip, fog covers, STI scoop, S202 front Grille and a replica STI rear spoiler this was followed with a 1/2 car respray.

At this piont the brakes needed sorting so I went for the Godspeed 330mm AP racing setup with Hel braided lines. Next Up was the suspension resulting in a set of BC coilovers rapidly followed by a set of 18' Prodrive PFF7s.
Then I decided I needed more power and had an APS SR40 fitted along with a set of STI pink injectors, this initially saw me to 340BHP but with the addition of a Spec C manifold, Ported headers and a new up-pipe JGM got me to the 370 mark!
Then I blew the car up on the way back from the Nurburgring, destroying the big end! The car is currently with Mike Rivett having the engine removed ready for the new Engine that's being built by Andy Williams. The new spec will be as follows:

Glad to hear it..... Mike did say it was your (Disco's) fault he was filthy (after I name dropped to make sure it got the highest attention)!

Just need to decide if I get Mike to put it back together with the TMIC or if I get the FMIC up to him to fit... trying to balance the cost vs the hassle!

Hopefully if all goes to plan the engine should be out and off to Any Williams by the start of next week then the new long engine back and fitted a couple of weeks after - then I've got to try and get Simon sorted to come fit the Syvecs.

Hope it all goes well Nick, and looking forward to progress reports.
1086 subarus on a track and a guiness world record and we were in it.

I believe the engine was out and on the pallet on Friday

Yep, we changed the gearbox on my Discovery ready for Ardingly show. I was towing another of Mike's Land Rover show cars so it had to be finished

    Result!

What do you reckon on the Front mount issue, get Mike to rebuild on the top mount then fit the front mount myself when the car is back before the Syvecs fitting, or just get Mike to fit it? It's the hybrid (HDI) FMIC, involves cutting the bumper support bar etc.

Mike can do it, but if you have the time it would be cheaper for you to do it
Plus at least you can say you did some of it

It's up to you. Do you fancy having a go at fitting a FMIC????

I'm happy that I took most of the engine out - only left the bellhousing and the down/uppipe to remove as I couldn't get the ****** downpipe off!

I'd like to fit it myself to be honest then I can be all anal about the fit etc. and fiddle to my hearts content - but I need to sell my top mount to balance the books so wouldn't be able to get the car running and back home easily!! I'm starting the spraying of the pipes etc tonight as I'm going for wrinkle black throughout. I'll see how much extra Mike reckons it'll cost to fit the FMIC.
